It was the last full day of my two week residency with the Glen Arbor Art Association. I sat on the dock of Bass Lake in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and ate a late lunch. I was tired after two weeks of trying to make the most of the time I had been given, and after a morning hike that had stretched into the afternoon. The sun was shining, the air was still, and the reflections of the sky and shore in the smooth water mirrored my thoughts.
