It was the last full day of my two week residency with the Glen Arbor Art Association. I sat on the dock of Bass Lake in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and ate a late lunch. I was tired after two weeks of trying to make the most of the time I had been given, and after a morning hike that had stretched into the afternoon. The sun was shining, the air was still, and the reflections of the sky in the smooth water echoed my inner thoughts.
